EMMA Award for Excellence in Multicultural Marketing

Showtime Networks, Inc. (SNI) has been a Pólvora client since 2004. In the past years they have made significant programming changes to deliver a more targeted offer for the bilingual/bicultural market. Pólvora was challenged with reaching this elusive audience, educating them about SNI's new programming and driving acquisitions.

Pólvora identified that a large segment of the US Hispanic bicultural population was using social networks to stay connected to friends and family domestically and abroad. The Agency put together a SNI MySpace page, titled, "Mi Showtime" where users could interact, view and share Showtime properties and components, leading them to an acquisition. Media: Used 100% online media, selecting key portals and trafficking bilingual creative to capture this audience.



The MySpace campaign was the winner of an EMMA award for excellence in multicultural marketing.
More importantly, it generated a 29.2% response rate from our acquisition landing page to the dedicated sales hotline.

Sección Amarilla USA (SAUSA), the Spanish-language yellow pages, renowned in Mexico, entered the US
in 2008 with a new search portal dedicated to the Hispanic market. The search engine was existent but never received marketing support.

Pólvora was contracted to develop a creative and media campaign that would educate and drive Latinos
to the new SAUSA portal.

Cable TV, spot radio and online media.

The creative campaign reminded Latinos that "to succeed in the US, one must be well informed" and
SeccionAmarilla.com was the portal that helped Latinos find the things that were important to them.

zumba fitness

From three guys and an idea to millions of DVDs sold, 60,000 locations, 105 countries and 7.5 million
participants weekly.

Annual Florida Print Awards

Florida Print Award

Zumba Fitness, an exercise video program based on Latin music, looked to promote a new series of kids DVDs to U.S. Hispanic children of school ages. Zumba contracted Pólvora to create a promotional program that would generate awareness among kids and incentivize parents (the "gatekeepers") to purchase the DVDs.

Pólvora created "Zumbando" and partnered with a major food manufacturer (Kellogg's) to create a healthy lifestyle program targeting schools of high Hispanic concentration. A sales kit was developed for physical
education teachers and principals with instructional materials so that the teachers could implement Zumba classes and educate their children on the importance of staying healthy. Participating schools received a visit and exhibition by "Zumba Superstars" who also distributed Zumba premiums, healthy food coupons (from the partner) and provided kids with special invitations for their parents to local supermarket exhibits where they could purchase the videos or order them online.

The sales kit exercise routines were put together with collaboration from the national association for K-12 physical education teachers, NASPE(National Association of Sports and Physical Education). Standees were developed for all of the schools to announce the arrival of Zumba and invitations were distributed to all of the kids and their parents for the local supermarket exhibit.

• The program exhausted video sales.
• The collateral material was awarded "Best in Category" by the Annual Florida Print Awards.
• The food manufacturer, Kellogg's contracted Zumba to a three year agreement of various
promotional programs directed to the Hispanic market.
• Kellogg's Special K brand rose from a 96 Hispanic consumer index to 198 over the three years.
